Great feeling pads
The pads on the DXPRESS IV Special have natural rebound and great dynamic response so you will be able to get express all of your musical ideas. The special kit has a 3 zone snare with pad controller that lets you make snare tension adjustments, change the pitch, or alter the tempo of a sequence that you are playing to. There are 3 toms, a 3-zone crash, a mono crash, and a 3-zone ride. The cymbal pads are round, and have a natural swing and rebound for realistic feel. The hi hat pad mounts to a real hi hat stand (that's included with the kit), and responds much like an acoustic hi hat. The kick tower feels very much like an acoustic kick, and will accept a double pedal. When you want to expand, you can split the tom and kick inputs to add more pads.

On-board sequencer
The DXPRESS IV has a built in sequencer that allows you to record your performance in real time. There are 44 prerecorded full-length songs and 19 pad songs to play along with, and 20 user songs that you can use to record your own loops, songs or patterns. You can mute the drum part so that you can play without a drum track, or you can also mute the rhythm track to play along with only a bass line. You can assign any of these songs to any pad in the kit, and then start or stop the song by hitting the pad. To give you even more musical choices, you can plug your CD or MP3 player into the AUX IN of the module and play along with your favorite music.

Programmable click
The module has a programmable metronome that can play subdivisions of quarter, eighth, sixteenth, or triplets. You can control the volume of each subdivision to give the patterns a different feel. The metronome has 30 user patterns that you can save so you can recall patterns that you use frequently for teaching or practice. The click also has a feature we call Rhythm Gate that will mute the drum voices if you are out of time with the click.

New Round Cymbal Pads
The DXPIIISP has our all-new round cymbal pads. The 3 zone PCY150S ride, 2 zone PCY130S and single zone PCY130 crashes and RHH130 hi-hat pad give you the freedom to express your musical ideas even better than before. The PCY150S ride gives you the bell, bow, and edge sounds making the ride respond to every nuance of your playing. The crashes give you access to three cymbal sounds at a time and the PCY130S has choking capability. Philippine Mahogany Shell
Yamaha has been making drums for over 35 years and we are constantly experimenting to learn more about what makes a great drum. It is with that knowledge that we have been able to extract a richer sound from these new drums. The shells are manufactured using our exclusive Air Seal System. This technique, while enhancing the characteristics of the wood, also ensures that every drum shell is perfectly round, of uniform thickness, and creates a stronger, more durable shell. Even our least expensive entry-level drums are made using this process.

5 Exciting Finishes
The Rydeen series will appeal to the entry level player not only with it?s great sound, but with 5 finishes to choose from they will be able to find a color that they are excited about. These kits include a matching wood snare drum and inlayed bass drum hoops.

Universal Size Toms
The Rydeen series toms are Universal sizes that are an inch shorter than power sizes. This gives the drums more sustain and will make it easier for younger players to position them comfortably. Combine these sizes with the available 20? bass drum and you have a quality kit that even young children can play.

Lugs
Rydeen uses the same small low-mass lugs as the YD series used. They are a very clean, simple design. The lugs are a spring-less design to prevent them from rattling.

Bass Drum Spurs
The bass drum spurs are a simple yet sturdy design. They are pre-set for optimum height but will fold close to the shell for transport.

Omni-ball Tom Holders
A pair of Yamaha's famed Ball Clamp Mounts and tom holders mounted in the Rydeens's bass drum ofter maximum freedom when setting up the drums.
